Medical Conditions Communications Plan

The Centre will follow the Medical Conditions Communications Plan to ensure that team members are informed about the Centre’s medical conditions policy, and are aware of the Action /Medical Management Plan and Risk Minimisation Plan for each child attending the Centre with a medical condition.

  • New team members should read and be familiar with all Centre policies and procedures, including the Medical Conditions Policy, within two weeks of being employed.
  • All team members should remain up to date and knowledgeable with all Centre policies and procedures, including the Medical Conditions policy, throughout their employment.
  • New team members will be shown all Action/Management Plans, and Risk Minimisation Plans and be asked to familiarise themselves with the location of these plans upon induction into the Centre.
  • Once any new child starts at the Centre who has a medical condition, ALL room team members will need to sign off once they have sighted, and are aware of, the location of the Action/Management Plan and Risk Minimisation Plans for the new child.  Administration will also email all rooms so that they can all make themselves aware of the child within the Centre.
  • If a child who attends the Centre is diagnosed with a medical condition whilst enrolled at the Centre, ALL room team members will need to sign off once they have sighted, and are aware of, the location of the Action/Management Plan and Risk Minimisation Plans for the child.  Administration will also email all rooms so that all team members can make themselves aware of the child within the Centre and their medical condition.
  • Parents must ensure that they communicate any changes to their child’s medical condition, Action/Management Plan and/or Risk Management Plan as soon as possible, and that the Centre is provided with a copy of the updated Action/Management Plans.  The Centre will then update the child’s Risk Minimisation Plan accordingly.
