Medications - Information for EducatorsAuthorisation to administer medication MUST be given by a First Aid trained educator. Students and Volunteers are NOT to witness or administer medications at any time. Check medication has the child’s name on it, and that the medication has not passed its use by date. NO medication is to be given unless we have written authorisation, and the medication book is signed and dated- parents may give authorisation over the phone (two educators need to witness hearing this verbal authorisation), however this must be filled in by a team member and signed by the parent at the end of the day. Authorisation for children to self administer medication will NOT be permitted. Medication MUST be administered by our team members. Two team members are needed for medication- A First Aid trained educator is to administer the medication and another permanent team member is to check details and witness the administration.
