The Framework creates a jointly governed uniform national approach to the regulation and quality assessment of education and care services in place of the previous separate licensing and quality assurance processes. A regulatory authority in each state and territory will be responsible for administering the National Quality Framework, including approving, monitoring and assessing services. Each Service is assessed and rated against each of the seven Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard and the National Regulations. Each service is given an overall rating of either; Significant Improvement Required, Working towards National Quality Standard, Meeting National Quality Standard, Exceeding National Quality Standard or Excellent. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) describes the principles, practices and outcomes that support and enhance your child's learning from birth to five, as well astheir transition to school. The EYLF is a key component of the NQF and was developed by the state government.
