Occupational Health and Safety

3.1   Occupational Health and Safety

Viewbank Early Childhood Centre considers the health and safety of our team members as one of our greatest responsibilities.  Accordingly, the Centre undertakes to carry out all practicable action necessary to safeguard the health and safety of all its employees whilst they are at work.

This means that we will:

  • To the best of our ability, create and maintain systems and work areas which are safe.
  • Provide to the best of our ability such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure the health and safety of all employees.
  • Provide such appropriate protective items as necessary to protect the health and safety of employees.
  • Provide adequate medical, health and first-aid services to at least the level prescribed by the appropriate authority.

The Centre recognises that achievement of the above requires top management leadership, supervisory responsibility, employee participation and support from those charged with responsibility for the development and maintenance of the Centre’s safety program and Hazard’s and Identification checks.  For more information on Occupational Health and Safety please read the Information Board in the staff room.

Team members should be conscious of their own safety within the Centre environment at all times, and report any concerns regarding safety immediately to your Team Leader, who is your Occupational Health and Safety Representative.
