Our Classrooms

At Viewbank Early Childhood the importance of parents feeling comfortable and confident when leaving their child in our care is our top priority, Our educators encourage families to spend time with their child during orientation, to support a smooth and positive transition into their new care environment, forming strong and positive bonds with their educators.

Our nursery classroom offers seamless access to an outdoor deck, allowing children to engage in a rich indoor–outdoor program that supports development through play, exploration, and connection with nature. Educators nurture each child’s growth in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children feel secure to learn and thrive throughout their infant years.

The Toddler environment at Viewbank Early Childhood provides a nurturing and inclusive space where children feel safe, secure, and supported as they explore their world. Through play-based learning and meaningful relationships, toddlers are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. Our thoughtfully designed environment offers rich opportunities for movement, discovery, creativity, imagination, and collaboration. Educators draw on children’s interests, strengths, and developmental stages to create a responsive program that supports learning, wellbeing, and positive learning outcomes in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.

The Preschool room at Viewbank Early Childhood Centre provides children with opportunities to be challenged, test ideas, and demonstrate their theories through hands-on learning experiences. Educators implement intentional teaching strategies and scaffold children’s learning, supporting deeper thinking and problem-solving. Children enjoy access to a beautiful outdoor learning space, enabling a seamless indoor–outdoor program that encourages exploration, collaboration, and active learning. We believe in creating a stimulating environment that offers meaningful challenges, extending children’s current levels of ability and competence while supporting their confidence and independence.
 

Our funded 3–5 Kindergarten program at Viewbank Early Childhood Centre supports children in gaining the skills needed for a successful transition to school. Through a play-based and intentionally designed program, children develop confidence, independence, social competence, and a love of learning. Educators scaffold learning to build early literacy and numeracy skills, encourage problem-solving and critical thinking, and foster self-regulation and resilience. Children engage in rich indoor and outdoor learning experiences, including our Bush Kinder program, which promotes connection with nature, curiosity, and exploration.

Our program also offers fun and community-focused events such as our Halloween Disco, Movie Night, and Intergenerational Program, where children engage with older community members to build meaningful relationships, respect, and a sense of belonging. These experiences complement daily learning, providing opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and social-emotional growth. The program is responsive to each child’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs, ensuring learning experiences are meaningful, engaging, and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
